Dr. Jansen studied medicine in Leiden. He trained as an orthopaedic surgeon at the LUMC, HAGA Hospital and Alrijne Hospital. From 2006 to 2022, he worked as an orthopaedic surgeon at the Alrijne Hospital in Leiderdorp.
In 2007, he completed a travelling fellowship in hip arthroscopy in Vail, Colorado (USA) with Dr Marc Philippon, and in Homburg (Germany) with Prof. Dr Michael Dienst.
Dr. Jansen treats many young patients with a hip problem that affects them during their work, sport or other activities. In his daily practice, he takes plenty of time to inform his patients. "I believe it's very important that patients can make their own choices and retain control over the care they receive."
With around 150 procedures a year and more than 2000 hip arthroscopies performed in total, Sebastiaan Jansen is among the most experienced surgeons in this field in Europe.
Alongside his work as an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Jansen is medical director of the Nederlandse Klinieken Groep (NLKG), of which the Eisenhower Kliniek forms part.
